The Cube Lite started as a one-off project for a customer in Spain  and quickly proved itself as a model of its own. In a warm climate, the thick insulation, vapour barrier, and weatherproofing we build into every Nordic-spec Cube simply aren’t doing any work. So we removed them. What’s left is the same design, the same craftsmanship, and the same deep sauna heat — built lighter, faster, and at a noticeably more accessible price.

The exterior of the CUBEx2 is clad in thermowood — timber that has been thermally modified at high temperature to dramatically increase its resistance to moisture, decay, and dimensional change. Unlike untreated pine, thermowood will not warp, crack, or rot through Northern European winters. It requires no painting, no chemical preservatives, and minimal maintenance year after year.

Inside, the sauna room is finished in aspen  the classic choice for sauna interiors across Scandinavia and Finland. Aspen has a fine, even grain that stays cool to the touch even at 90 °C. It does not release resin at high temperatures, it does not splinter, and it ages gracefully, developing a warm silver-white tone over time. The result is an interior that is both beautiful and entirely practical.

The 9 kW Harvia or HUUM  electric heater warms the sauna room to your preferred temperature — typically 70–100 °C — within 30 to 45 minutes. It is sized correctly for the room: powerful enough for a fast heat-up, efficient enough for regular daily use.

There is a reason you leave a sauna feeling different than when you walked in, and it is not only the temperature.

Heat works on us twice. Once on the body — the shoulder that has been tight since Tuesday, the legs that ran further than they wanted to. And once on the mind, in that particular quiet that arrives somewhere in the second round, when the day stops arguing with you.

Most saunas can do one of those well.

Contrast was built to do both, in one room, on the same evening — and to let you decide which one you came for.

The body

Infrared panels sit in the side walls, directly behind where you sit. Not a lamp in the corner: long, full-height panels, wide enough to cover your back, warming muscle rather than air.

You can stay in that heat for a long time, which is the point. It is warmth to recover in, not to endure. Twenty minutes, breathing normally, while something that has been knotted since the week began quietly lets go.

This is the state Contrast calls Body.

The mind

Then the stones. A Harvia heater on the far wall, water on hot stone, and the room changes character in about four seconds — steam, weight in the air, skin open, the old ritual that has never needed improving.

One honest note: Duo cannot be built later out of an Ember or an Aura. The panels and their wiring live inside the walls, so this is decided once, at the beginning.
